STEP 1 - Development
The initial stage is to map out what it is you want to accomplish in your web site. Is it for information purposes? Will it sell a product or service? If so, does it need to allow e-commerce? All of these questions and more need answers before proceeding. I have created a basic question-naire form that will help you and I determine what your true needs are.
STEP 2 - Layout
The next step is to get a rough idea of how you want the site to function as in structure. If you are presenting information only, what is the simplest way for others to view it? Should you use framed pages? How will users navigate? By clicking on the 'learn more' link, you can view a few simple layouts that will help you decide how your site might be structured.
STEP 3 - Graphics and Text
Step three also plays a big part in the cost issue discussed next. Do you have a logo that you want on each page? Do you need a logo designed for you? Would pictures help the user to understand an idea better? Balance is necessary, not only for cost issues, but also for speed and clarity.
